Mad_Michael Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 It would be a long time since I've voted for any Conservative (Federally or Provincially), but John Tory will have my vote in November, absolutely. Who'd you vote for before? Mulroney in 1988 was my last vote for a conseravative party. Lately I've been voting Liberal in Federal/Provincial elections. Federally, that's fine since the Liberal Party has been fairly good at representing my interests, but I've never liked the Ontario Provincial Liberal party as they seem so amateurish in everything they do. I've also spoiled more than a couple ballots (i.e. "none of the above"), but that is mostly municipal or provincial where the pickings are very slim. Quote
madmax Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 Geez madmax, you going to trip him up like you did me with that question? (Bill Davis et al?) Long as we are having fun. Quote

This answer is so believeable and candid that I understand why you carry the MAD moniker. Thanks madmax Quote

Thanks madmax Hey, I'll even admit that I voted for Bob Rae's NDP in the 1990 election (my one and only NDP vote). Without a doubt, I am extremely political - but I'm definitely not partisan. I have voted Liberal and PC on the federal level and I've voted Liberal, PC and NDP in Ontario elections going back some 20 years. The fact that I do have a degree in political science tends to make one jaded about the topic of partisanship. Quote
Figleaf Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Do you think the Cons have a chance after Harris? Do you like what the Libs have done so far and would you vote the NDP in because you are sick of the other two? I like to think that John Tory is a far remove from Mike 'Ripper' Harris. But still, I think the McGuinty government has actually done a pretty good job and I'd give them another go. Quote
Figleaf Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Really? ... you should learn the whys and whats on the Walkerton situation instead of making claims the big bad Harris killed people. Actually, he's got it perfectly right already. The Harris tories removed a water safety protocol that would have prevented the Walkerton tragedy. Previously, town water samples passed through a provincial lab screen. Harris cut that practice and people were poisoned as a result. Pretty easy for most people to realize had Stan done his job , had Stan alerted the authorities, had Stan done the testing that he was MANDATED to do, the people would be alive today. True, and had Harris never become premier, Stan's default of his duty would not have resulted in dead people. Quote

Stan had the water tested, Stan did not disclose to anyone that there was a problem and hid the fact when Health Auth questioned him. Sheesh....read up on it. Oh...so lets say Figleaf had been elected Premier , and Stan still didnt do his job those people would be alive? Oh please. Quote
Topaz Posted March 10, 2007 Author Report Posted March 10, 2007 Liberals and McGuinty will be back in a majority government once again. Not only are they legitimately tackling the botchery by Evens and Harris, You want to elaborate on just what they have done? and of course public service workers have a long memory Public Sector workers are split between the Conservatives and the Liberals. Except for places like Caledonia where people are pissed at McGuinty, for the most part Ontarians are either happy with him, or they don't care (which will work in his favour). The riding belong to Toby Barret Provincially, a Conservative. Federally to Diane Findlay, A useless Federal Conservative, known in the region as "Where's Diane?" McGuinty won't get any support in Caledonia or surrounding areas because of the SWEETHEART deal they gave Henco, and then how abysmally they have handled things for the local inhabitants. Liberal majority - my prediction. Sweet Dreams. Can you answer one question about Diane?? Is there something especially wrong with her eyes or are those just a fashion statement glasses?? Quote
