Leafless Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 "ABC News: Being a religious and political symbol, do you think that what happened is an infringement and a violation of Iraqi sovereignty? Al-Hakim: No doubt about that — when there is no sanctity to any Iraqi figure, and when a U.S. soldier on the ground is allowed to treat everyone the way they like regardless of controls or limitations. This humiliation lasted 11 hours, and then I was told, "Go; the matter is over." http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/IraqCoverage/sto...=2901692&page=1 --------------------------------------------------------------- When are these Iraq Shiites going to learn Iraq IS a police state, under U.S control, until law and order is restored. jbg Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 These people live to be humiliated. Everything for them is the sorting out of grievances. Their lives would be so much better if they weren't always so much the victim. Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." Figleaf Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 .... When are these Iraq Shiites going to learn Iraq IS a police state, under U.S control, until law and order is restored. Iraq sovereignty currently is temporally suspended. Ummmm.... I think that is what he was complaining about. Also, consider: this guy is the son of a bigshot, probably educated, probably with some English. Imagine how the same scenario goes for a poor uneducated innocent Iraqi who gets on the wrong side of Uncle Sam's trained killing forces -- longer than 11 hours, I'll bet you. Quote
