dnsfurlan Posted October 21, 2003 Report Posted October 21, 2003 You did that all by yourself? Looks pretty good, man! Nice work. Quote
Cameron Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 Not bad Gugsy!!! Looks nice. I've already sent an email to the respective peoples! Bring the Noise! Quote Economic Left/Right: 3.25 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.26 I want to earn money and keep the majority of it.
KrustyKidd Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 I think it's pretty good too Gugs. I emailed Orchard and voted. On top of that I got a date and won a $25 gift certificate when I submitted it! Quote We're Paratroopers Lieutenant. We're supposed to be surrounded - CPT Richard Winters
dnsfurlan Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 Keep up the good work, guys! The Libs are hating every second of this. Believe me! They know they have had a free ride because the two conservative parties by themselves looked like weak alternatives to Canadians. Now, they see this consolidation in Canadian federal politics and know they finally have to start working for their treasured status. They WILL try to kill this thing! I smell fear! So, lets make sure we get this this merger through! Canada needs it. The Libs don't. Quote

Cameron Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 Dear Mr. Craig, I am answering on behalf of Mr. Orchard who is touring Ontario at the present moment. I'm curious: why is it that you have only now joined the Progressive Conservative Party, in order to eliminate it? Why did you not join during our recent leadership contest when you could have voted for a "unity" candidate, Mr. Craig Chandler, who received less than 1% of the membership votes in delegate selection meetings across the country? Why should you have the right to terminate the party that founded Canada? Holly Davis for David Orchard Cameron Craig wrote: Dear Mr. Orchard The two conservative parties in Canada must be united in order to take on the Liberals. What you are doing in NOT in the interests of the people of Canada. Isn't that the fundamental job of politicians, to work in favour of the interests of the people! Mr. Orchard, if you do not agree with this new party then I invite you to leave the conservative side and join another party. You like to complain allot, maybe you could join the NDP, they are good at that. A united right is the answer and I fully intend to vote YES for ratification, and if I could, vote you out as well! Sincerely Cameron Craig Halifax, NS PC Member I didn't think they would respond! Quote Economic Left/Right: 3.25 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.26 I want to earn money and keep the majority of it.
Rob1963 Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 Cameron, you have not answered what I think is a reasonable question, why did you not join the Party to support the Pro-Unity Candidate? Will YOU respond? Quote
Cameron Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 Number one, I joined the PC's before a united right was even mentioned, so I'm not a front-runner who wants to destroy conservatism is Canada. If we keep the two parties separate from each other then we will always have a split right-wing. You can wait and see if people will turn back and join the PC movement, but I don't think that will happen. You will just let the Liberals sit in power until the cows come home, which if we leave the opposition as it is, will never happen. This is the future, I know conservatives founded Canada, now let's join forces and lead Canada into a brighter future. Quote Economic Left/Right: 3.25 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.26 I want to earn money and keep the majority of it.
Neal.F. Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 Why would someone want to go for Craig Chandler? HE proved to be an idiot, and representative of the typical Liberal caricature they use against the right? Jim Prentice was seen by many as being a pro-merger candidate, and he was far more serious and respected than Mr Chandler. As much as I detest the Liberals, taking a rifle and shooting at the Liberal logo was really a dumbass, childish and churlish move. Quote
westcoast99 Posted October 22, 2003 Author Report Posted October 22, 2003 (edited) Throughout his leadership campaign he stressed that he was not the merger candidate, though said "I want to see us return to power, preferably under the PC banner but other options can be explored."He explored the other options for the good of the party. Cameron Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 I got a responce from Ms. Davis from the Office of Mr. Orchard. What where the political parties of the 1980s. Did the PC's have such a large majority because they were the only Conservative alternative? Quote Economic Left/Right: 3.25 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.26 I want to earn money and keep the majority of it.

Hugo Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 Yes, Gugsy, this is a good site you have made and hopefully its message will be heard. I sincerely hope that a united Conservative Party will give the Liberals the sound thrashing they deserve at the next election. Quote
Mr. Chater Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 Thank you for your e-mail. I will bring it to Mr. Thompson's attention.Frances Smith, Secretary to Greg Thompson, M.P. for New Brunswick Southwest and PC Health Critic -----Original Message----- Subject: Vote YES to ratification of the merger agreement. Uniting the Right JP Chater I believe that the merger of the right is vital to Canadian politics and to the Canadian people. The Canadian way has been the Liberal way for too long and the conservative way has been suspended for long enough – it is time for change. The Conservatives have been traditionally the reigning party of Canada and it is time for them to come back from their dormant era to once again lead Canada to success. I believe the following is not possible without ‘uniting the right’. I believe that as long as we have the same-old Liberal government; Canada cannot exceed the current standings. I believe that ignoring the idea of merger will pull us back from the new era of power and success in which we choose to achieve. I believe that without merger we cannot and will not become the powerful and respected country we once were! Written by myself to you, i hope you see the importance of 'uniting the right' and say NO to David Orchard. Thank You for your time to read this article. Sincerely, JP Chater Another Reply Quote

Schilly Posted October 23, 2003 Report Posted October 23, 2003 Me too, I got same response from Greg Thompson's secretary. At least the message is being heard. That's good, I like the site...it's well done. I always toyed with being a member of either Conservative party and now I think my choice could be made come the merging of the two. Quote
