Higgly Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 What is that we consider critical to a functioning sentient society? There might be those who think that weaponry is most important. There might be those who consider it to be property or behavioural law. What do you think? Intentionally left blank.... Quote "We have seen the enemy and he is us!". Pogo (Walt Kelly).
jbg Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 Sensitivity is an important value in society, but not the only one. To survive, a country's culture cannot only be sentient. Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." Always remember that when you are in the right you can afford to keep your temper, and when you are in the wrong you cannot afford to lose it. - J.J. Reynolds. Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location? The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).

Figleaf Posted December 25, 2006 Report Posted December 25, 2006 "Sentient" or "Sapient"? For the latter, we need the capacity to create shared meaning and common understanding. Quote
Nazia Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 It should not be technology, weaponary, sensitivity or trust etc... Because we have none of those(sensitivity,trust...) or because we have them.(technology, weaponary If we were to show the universe the face of this world...the universe would spit at our lies and cowardness. This world's soul has been betrayed by the most superior creation living amongst it. In short..we've sold the world for greed. Look at us..look at what humans have done and become. Let's pick up a history book...and begin to defame ourselves. Quote
