scribblet Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 Ya, all this I've learnt from neocons. Being rude is the only way to talk to neocons because they don't understand anything else. Your posts are rude, and the use of the word 'neocon' is meant as an insult, as I suspect you really don't know what a neo con is. I suppose to you anyone who is left of centre is a 'neocon' what ever that is supposed to mean these days. Neocons were liberals who were rebelling against a leftwing drift - as Kristol said " The neocons are liberals mugged by reality." jbg Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Is there much Canadian objection to building more Nuclear generation? It always seemed a great idea to me. I agree. The objections are irrational. I live right next to a Nuclear reactor that can produce enough power for the city of Seattle. It has been in operation since the 1980's with no serious problem. If the politics and the stupid environmentalists get out of the way.The waste problem would go away since the science for it already exist. Better than building a whole bunch of Coal plants that will produce monster pile of radioactive ash. That will sit in big piles in the outdoors. It seems to me that many (though not all) environmentalists are really aiming their ire at a "culture of consumption" rather than at environmental problems. Thus, they rail against any alternative that actually produces power. Hey, Ted Kennedy even opposes wind power (of course, in part motivated by his family's estate's view being spoiled by the wind farms). Either it's greenhouse gases, or nukes, or wind that draw their perpetual opposition. Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." Always remember that when you are in the right you can afford to keep your temper, and when you are in the wrong you cannot afford to lose it. - J.J. Reynolds. Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location? The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).
