iamcanadian2 Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 In a show of democratic bravado, Turner, Nunziata and others can very easily form an Independant Party. If there are enought dissinchanted politicians what stops a whole slew of members from any other party from crossing the floor to an independant side. Definetely history making material and probably what is needed to shake up Canada's bizzar political system of having perpetual minority government without any represesantation of the people. We don't need representatives of the government. It is the people that need representation to control government. Quote
Canadian Blue Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Sure, but how would it work when it comes to a general election, debates, etc. In an independant party you could have a green and a member of the Christian Heritage Party. It needs to have some sort of clear goals for the country other then running independant candidates. Quote "Keep your government hands off my medicare!" - GOP activist
iamcanadian2 Posted October 25, 2006 Author Report Posted October 25, 2006 It would function based on the collaborative views of the representatives alone without some hidden beuracracy of individuals sitting and running a party who are not elected by the population. Individuals are what coun't some religious-like affiliation to hundred years old party ideal run by invisible old men that would not recognize the real world if they where dropped in it today. The old party masters don't have a clue of life in todays fast paced world. We need a party that is defined by the candidates and not unelected parties. Quote
