There is no question that the osprey, golden eagle and bald eagle have returned to healthy populations since the DDT ban. I do believe that it thinned birds' shells, causing their failure to reproduce. I believe that in the tropics, where the tradeoff for birds is dead people, DDT should be allowed. In more advanced areas, which can afford other pesticides, perhaps not.DDT used in the tropics does not stay in the tropics. It gets around the world a poisons the food chain everywhere.
