nova_satori Posted September 17, 2003 Report Posted September 17, 2003 Ha, one of the most right-winged officals comming clean Hmmm....hey craig, are you going to say Rummy is wrong and he's an idiot and should be killed like you say about everyone else who disagrees with you? Quote
Whistler Posted September 17, 2003 Report Posted September 17, 2003 Heck no there was not a link between al Qaeda and Iraq and there needn’t be one. We would have invaded Saudi Arabia if that connection was a prerequisite. And their oil fields produce. Quote
nova_satori Posted September 17, 2003 Author Report Posted September 17, 2003 pre-emptive warfare simply allows the agressor nation to do whatever he wants by circumventing international law (not that international law means anything anyways). Simply state that you have some "evidence" (where by evidence you mean lies) and you can invade anyone you want. You want cheap oil? Saudia Arabia has nukes, ATTACK! You want cheap electronics? S. Korea has WMD, ATTACK! You want cheap diamonds? Congo has WMD, ATTACK! You want cheap gold? South Africa has WMD, ATTACK! Great world we live in, don't you think? lol Quote
Whistler Posted September 17, 2003 Report Posted September 17, 2003 I see a lot more poor intelligence in our future. I used to like being the country that walked softly, but then again I think Olympic athletes should be armatures. Times are changing; the terror has crossed the ocean. Our best natural defense is less effective now. Quote
nova_satori Posted September 17, 2003 Author Report Posted September 17, 2003 The Us hasn't walked softly for years. Teddy Roosevelt kinda killed that with his fleet of battleships. Quote
Malone1234 Posted September 17, 2003 Report Posted September 17, 2003 Actually Teddy Roosevelt was the one who came up with the phrase (or maybe somebody running his campaign did) "Speak softly and carry a big stick." His big stick was his big fleet of ships, though he never used them himself, their mere presence was enough to keep other countries at bay. Quote
Nuclear Posted September 17, 2003 Report Posted September 17, 2003 Thanks for the news flash, Captain America. Of course Iraq wasn't behind 9-11. It WAS a support of al-queda and Saddam gave money to families of thsoe who died in suicide attacks....I'd call that supporting terrorism. Rumsfeld said Iraq wasn't directly behind the 9-11 attacks....but that doesn't mean they were not involved in others.... When reading news articles, don't read the first paragraph and take it as gospel. Read all the words, top to bottom. View the page on other websites also....then you will understand the meaning. Ask the French about walking softly...it took the Nazis 4 days, count em, 4 days to be conquered. I like the big stick idea. That way when one of these little countries like Iraq get a big ego, we can whop them on the head with it! Quote
Whistler Posted September 17, 2003 Report Posted September 17, 2003 Exactly Malone. And about the Amateur athlete reference. Amateur hockey athletes instilled American pride like we have never seen before. When else are we able to reverse world power and play David? A character al Qaeda plays to its advantage. Quote
