The post World War 2 Brenton Wood deals are no longer sustainable from the American perspective. There is no large soviet threat so security is out of the picture, the countries are mass retired and no longer able to participate economically in a meaningful way. The Americans have to look closer to shore. This should come as no surprise to Canadians when more scrutiny is put on our bilateral relations. Quote
