Toro Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 I think being reasonable increases your chances of being booted at FD. Quote "Canada is a country, not a sector. Remember that." - Howard Simons of Simons Research, giving advice to investors.
leewgrant Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 There's actually a large pool of banned FD posters that were very reasonable and not "nuts". One (reaching for the back-patting handle) is myself. Others are Muddy, Solomon, Springer, Pinetree, and many more I can't think of. I left FD after two years because of the excessive homophobia. During that time I concluded that you and Pinetree were the two most level headed posters. FD in Spring 2006 was not the same forum I joined in the middle of the 2004 election campaign. Quote

I found that out I got banned once temporarily for pointing out that within the Roman Catholic clergy there are a pile of scumbags. By the Church's own estimate there are, or have been, 4000 pedophiles in the US priesthood. For that I was banned. I should point out that this is the organization who promoted Fred Henry into the episcopacy, the man who publicly equates being homosexual with prostitution and adultery. Quote

Omitting you was an oversight. Sorry. Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location? The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).

Wondered where you went. I too was banned from FD apparently for applauding and encouraging (on line) all the above banned 'moderate' people plus a few more. I actually formally quit 2 days before I was banned. It had become altogether too disgusting for me in every way. Great to see some of us 'banees' emerging on more reasonable boards like THIS one! jgb. Thanks for mentioning the top age of us 'reasonable' ones as 68. Haven't seen that exalted number for 9 years! And life gets better every year! Quote

southerncomfort Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Talking about other websites (is it allowed even ) http://www.canadawebpages.com/ yikes, talk about tin foil hatters and moonbats. At least one of em is from that 50plus site which was closed down. (Kuzadd) near 5000 posts on anti U.S. and anti Israel rants, on 50plus, huge copy and paste articles - good reason not to go there. Further to this they have finally jumped the shark, next it will be white hoods and burning crosses, some have crossed the line from critique of Israel to anti semitism. Not a forum I would want to post in and be associated with, I'm surprised the owner has allowed it to go that far. Quote
