You know, somehow I just suspect that this video will be another slam from the far left, and since I get more than enough dogma from the left every day, I don't think I'll bother with this video.

That was a great and thanks. However, not really unbelievable. I can see where a public rationale to go to war which every country on earth agreed with would have been an almost certainty. Hence the lose explanation of 'here there everywhere around Baghdad' or whatever. The connection with Al Queda I always believed was a pure scaremongering thing designed for just that - 'well, Saddam hates us so they must be sleeping with Osama too.' I do agree that the connection is more than conincidental - nothing happens in Iraq without Saddam or his people knowing about it so Zarkowi wouldn't be in a Baghdad hospital unless it was ok with Saddam, hence, it seems that if no real connection (which I am certain there was not as Al Queda does not operate with states as they are a fluid sub movement rather than an organization with handles and weak points) there was at least, on Saddam's part, minimal cooperation.

Governments lie, every one of them, and to tell the truth, this one, in my opinion assumed too much. The actual reasons for war were never WMDs yet, that was the easiest to explain to the general public. Here, WMDs were a virtual given with every government on earth believeing they were there so, to say what he did in such a general statement of 'north, south east of Baghdad and Tikrit' seemed a pretty safe thing to say. The alternative 'we have no frickin' idea' would tend to lose much in the translation.

It's definitely too bad for the Bush admin in the herre and now but, history will hopefully redeem them if the rest of the war on terror goes better than the first part. There is still about twenty years to go Gerry.

BTW, where have you been? I've missed our sparring, hope you've been well.

Kind of a simpleton attitude. A good portion of this video is the straight version from the auditorium, so if you're scared of the reality then maybe you're wise not to watch.

GerryHatrick: I've made it perfectly clear over the past couple years that I am not, and never have been, a fan of GWB. So, I enjoyed the video you posted here.

What I DO NOT agree with is the simple fact that you seem to be re-hashing stuff simply because you may have run out of fuel for your anti-Bush fire.

You already started a thread with this same video here......

Make all the anti-Bush noises you want. Odds are that I'll end up agreeing with a lot, if not most, of them.

But please, don't start multiple threads on the exact same topic.

We have enough trouble with multiple same-topic threads simply because people haven't checked to see what other people have posted.

We don't need to exacerbate the problem with this sort of behaviour.

Quite frankly, I don't care if you are a "fan" of GWB or not or if you agree with my "anti-Bush noises" or not.

If I post two threads on the same subject and you don't like it, complain. Not to me - unless you do it in private - to big brother. It's obviously an issue near and dear to you, and I wouldn't want you to not follow your heart.

Peace.
