August1991 Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 (edited) In summer 2014, as it happens, I flew from Moscow to Simferopol. I wanted to see Yalta. In Crimea, all people I met spoke understandable south Russian. Crimea is nothing like west Ukraine where they have a weird accent like the Scottish/Catalan and refuse to make an effort to be international, understandablei. In Quebec, it was joual. Crappy French. ==== I went to Yalta. The famous photo of Churchill, Roosevelt, Stalin in fact was in a small courtyard of the chalet, summer house, cottage. It reminded me of Harrington Lake.
