BQSupporter Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 PETTIGREW CAUGHT INOPTION CANADA SCANDAL Pierre Pettigrew, the Foreign Affairs Minister and Montreal-area MP, is under fire today in a published report saying he received thousands of dollars from the shadowy federalist agency Council for Canadian Unity, better known for its tenuous links to Option Canada, now the subject of an embarrassing election-time RCMP probe. Pettigrew, who confirms he worked as a "consultant", claims he had no idea how the agency was financed. "Let's be clear. I had a client. What it did with my reports, I have no idea. How it was financed, I have no idea." Developing. http://www.bourque.org/ Quote
August1991 Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 "At that time, Minister Pettigrew added, I had many institutional clientssuch as the Quebec ministry of trade, industry and technology, the Caisse de dépôt et de placement du Québec and la Société de développement industriel du Québec, to name but a few. My work was always focused on political and economic policy." CNWPettigrew was a consultant for a large accounting/audit firm in the late 1990s and received various contracts to provide advice. (Note that the names he provides in the quote all refer to Quebec government organizations.) I don't see anything sinister in this except that, IMV, Canadian governments spend far too much money.
