scribblet Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 Never let the facts get in the way of a good smear ! http://www.torontosun.com/News/Election/20...378157-sun.html Wed, January 4, 2006 The Big Scare is backFar be it from the Liberals to let the facts get in the way of a good smear By GREG WESTON, IN WINNIPEG Prime Minister Paul Martin goes on the attack against Stephen Harper during yesterday’s meeting of the Canadian Club in Winnipeg. (Frank Gunn, CP) Dawn has barely broken over Manitoba after a cruel 5 a.m. flight from Ottawa, but Paul Martin is in full fighting form on the stump, waking up a breakfast crowd of local execs with one of his most fiery speeches of the federal election campaign. On this day, the topic that seems to have stirred the PM's passion from so much sleep deprivation is clear: Paul Martin is wonderful. Stephen Harper is a menace to life as we know it. How quaint. The prime minister who came to power promising to clean up politics is now seeking re-election as a walking negative-attack ad. For the past five weeks, the Liberal strategy has been largely to sit on the sidelines in the smug hope that the more voters saw of Harper, the less they would like him, and that the rest of the Conservative campaign would self-destruct in a hail of political stupidity and loose lips for which the party is notorious. But it didn't happen. ...... Quote Hey Ho - Ontario Liberals Have to Go - Fight Wynne - save our province
PocketRocket Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 IF YOU BELIEVE THE PM Instead, Martin served up 27 impassioned minutes of why Canadians shouldn't vote for Stephen Harper (not including the obvious blood dripping from his Conservative fangs). Sad to say, folks, for the second election in as many years, the Big Scare is back and coming to a Liberal rally near you. Damn, I hate that Liberal-biased media Quote I need another coffee
shoop Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 Ahh it came from the Sun chain pal. If you are to ignant to know which are the left-wing biased media sources your jokes are pretty pathetic. Damn, I hate that Liberal-biased media <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Quote
The Honest Politician Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 The only Party I saee using the BIG SCARE is the Conservatives with their Grey area Attack ads. Of course they figured out how to run an attack ad in a manner that in court could be argued it was not a true attack ad. Keep them coming. John Kerry thought his attack ads against a seemingly unpopular leader would work too. He got millions of more votes.......for Bush! I like how the conservatives warned everybody about Liberal attack ads, and then started airing two of their own. The fact people think they will behave any different once in power is a joke. Already they have been crying over the money wasted by the Liaberal govt., and yet Harper has pretty much already spent the budget surplus. You ever see that guy who can undress people while he is talking to them, just by using misdirection? The guy can undo your belt while you are looking at something. Then he will get you to partially turn and pull your belt right out of your pants, without you noticing. The conservatives campaign reminds me of this. Quote

Hmmm, can't remember the *big scare* from the Liberals. Let's go all the way back to yesterday. Since I've become the prime minister, I have stared across the floor at ... the Conservatives, whose leader and whose members seem chronically unhappy and for whom pessimism has become the default approach to seemingly every issue. Thanks for the positive campaign Paul Martin! Paul Martin's negativity on CTV. Quote
justcrowing Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 Pathetic Liberals - if they can win an election through fear mongering, then not only is Martin pathetic but so are the voters who buy into it. Liberals have had years to do what they are suddenly promising and we must remember, and it is not fear mongering, that they keep very few promises. Time for change. Quote
shoop Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 They won the last three elections with fear mongering (and a divided right). The Canadian people appear to have smartened up though. The Conservatives have a 9-point lead outside of Quebec in today's SES research-CPAC poll.
