Guest Posted September 9, 2023 Report Posted September 9, 2023 The combat sport industry has often been viewed as barbaric. Its meteoric rise in terms of some of the many disciplines which find themselves to becoming multi billion industries, showcase a human desire for the blood and guts this industry delivers. Are there any other fans of combat sports? Is the label fair? Quote
OftenWrong Posted September 10, 2023 Report Posted September 10, 2023 There is a new push to eliminate this thing called "Toxic Masculinity". I do enjoy watching certain fights, mainly boxing though there are no good boxing matches these days. The Octagon style full-contact fights are more popular so that is where the money is these days. Is that "toxic masculinity"? Perhaps. The references I saw were for Hockey Canada, which has yet to fully atone for its sins and purge itself of the guilt that made young people have sex. Quote

You feminize men, and remove their will to rebel and fight. That totally goes against the fight business, which is why the UFC, One Championship and several others are insanely successful entities. You have two alphas whether female or male, willing to die in the ring to win a fight. Humans feel far removed from the Roman era, but have evolved quite a bit regarding technology, but overall would be the same. Suppress it all you want, fighting is part of the human spirit. Only in the fighting game, will you see a world class athlete be dethroned by a journeyman fighter, on a regular basis. Quote
