myata Posted July 17, 2023 Report Posted July 17, 2023 Really, only two options. Because the blissful ride has run its course and it looms, increasingly like the latter option, not even that far ahead. A visual example: in Ontario there are pharmacies, Loblaw, Superstore and Pharmaplus. That's great, some competition, right. And they have different prescription charges too, very close though: 10.99, 11.99 and 12.49. Even better, right? Wrong. Because they look like identical twins, carry the same products (or not) and in fact owned by the same happy mega billion family. Why that cute difference though, couldn't it be like, standardized? No no you can't be more wrong! It's a "free market" we have here you see so it has to look like one! But dig only a little bit nowhere too deep or far and you're bound to stumble on it: a monopoly. The whole country is like that. Communications "market", sure complete with mega thousand decade upon decades of nothing ombudsomething regulator. Political system but of course. Healthcare, keep counting. Pretend happy smiley faces tapping and moving in perplexing unison to the same tune. Why Canadian potatoes had to jump almost 100% in a single year? What "world potato market"? A conscious, massive demonopolization of the society and the economy seems to be the only way to avoid the looming destination. To reignite some movement and progress in the society. But nah, not even possible to think about. And so looks like it's sealed. Quote If it's you or them, the truth is equidistant
