reason10 Posted March 2, 2023 Report Posted March 2, 2023 (edited) https://www.yahoo.com/news/kids-schools-city-93-students-101510076.html 'Take your kids out of these schools': In this city, 93% of students are failing math I have a serious question for parents and policymakers: What does a future look like where students can’t perform basic math? This isn’t a hypothetical question – it’s very real. Nationally, we know math scores have significantly dropped, and in Baltimore, there are 23 schools (out of 150 in the district that administered the state test) where not a single student is proficient in math at their grade level. According to an analysis by Project Baltimore that examined student math test scores in the city, 93% of third through eighth graders in Baltimore City Public Schools are unable to do math on grade level. From a public policy perspective, this is appalling. And from a human potential perspective, this is utterly heartbreaking, and the ripple effects will have grave consequences for our students and society. This article was written by the GREATEST education governor of all time: Jeb Bush, a brilliant governor who inherited a public school system well at the BOTTOM of this country's list (Thanks to liberal Democrat governors who couldn't be bothered.) His A+ Reform Law put us up in the top ten. (Of course, the Downs Syndrome people here will try to use a left wing opinion rag like USNews to suggest otherwise, but those of us with an education know better.) Then again, WokeNazis seem to think Math is RACIST. So maybe Baltimore thinks it's more important for those kids to have good self esteem, feel included, and wind up with a shelf full of participation trophies. I just hope they get the order right from the Drive Thru customers at McDonalds. Edited March 2, 2023 by reason10 Quote
