Why do my taxes pay to investigate who YOU pissed off enough to murder your family ? Or maybe we could plan our justice system without thinking about Dirty Harry movies.... Vigilante justice assumes the existence of BATMAN, or other super heroes who do not go through City Hall for their license to fight crime and skirt the Bill Of Rights. This homeowner did the exact opposite. He LEGALLY DEFENDED his home with deadly force. He didn't go out like Paul Kersey, looking for muggers to shoot. Harry Callahan was an INSPECTOR detective with the San Francisco Police Department, (as far as that mythology goes). Harry was not a vigilante. He did things according to the law, and chose a 44 magnum to help take out the trash. Here's an idea: Let's plan our justice system WITHOUT the stupidity of assuming there's such a thing as a law abiding criminal. Let's assume that despite ALL the laws and ALL the prisons, there will be scumbags who continue to commit violent crime. If the average citizen should have to worry about his/her safety, either at home or on the street, maybe it would be fair if the average scumbag had to worry about whether or not the next mugging or attempted rape would result in his getting shot to death. Bottom line, the homeowner LEGALLY took out the trash. And THOUSANDS of lives were obviously saved by a violent perp assuming room temperature. Quote

Also, if you're a convicted pedophile the parents get 5 minutes alone with you to do anything they want, including murder. Killing an animal who breaks into your house is not murder. It is self defense. Frankly, rather than letting parents have their way with a convicted pedophile, the WORST thing that could happen to that animal would be his first week in general population in prison. For a child rapist/sex offender, prison is a death sentence. And the animals behind bars would do it a lot more viciously than a set of parents. Quote

Do you think that a justice system really can achieve fairness by allowing victims to inflict violence on the convicted? 2. Why not? What's stopping you now? 3. You should be in charge of everything. The streets would be full of pantless criminals btt stuffed with carrots. What a glorious vision of the future. No one is suggesting that victims should be allowed to inflict violence on the convicted. Truthfully, that would be a REALLY dumb move, one that would result in the liability insurance premiums of the justice system to skyrocket. Ordinary decent people are not violent animals, and anything can happen if an angry dad is permitted to be locked in a room with a convicted animal. As far as the fate of child molesters, I'd say justice prevails pretty much once they are sentenced to prison. It is usually a death sentence, with ZERO due process. Hurt my granddaughter and I'll relish the sight of the animal getting gang raped in prison, followed by castration and then death. Maybe Stephen King has a gruesome enough imagination to picture something worse, but I don't. Quote
