"It's going to take a long time to fully see what's happening," said Hannah Studer, deputy director of the behavioral health nonprofit Bridges to Change. "We have to stay the course because this is life and death and this really is building an entirely new future for the state that the state deserves." No, folks. You aren't imagining this. It actually happened. That brain dead state of Oregon passed a liberals DREAM. Quote Measure 110 passed with 58% of the vote in 2020. It decriminalized possession of personal use amounts of hard drugs including heroin, meth and fentanyl, and redirected a significant portion of the state's marijuana tax revenue — which had previously gone to schools, police and local governments — to fund grants for addiction services. Actually, there may be a positive to this. Obviously left wingers are the druggies. Maybe this is a form of social Darwinism. Let the imbeciles kill themselves off and the intelligent Republicans will be left behind to run things. Right now, a group of Downs Syndrome adults couldn't possibly run that state any worse than the idjits running it now. Quote
reason10 Posted December 18, 2022 Author Report Posted December 18, 2022 (edited) So what about marijuana, you're probably asking. Yes, it is a dangerous substance, as is tobacco and alcohol. Famed author of "Sugar Blues" (William Dufty) once said that had sugar been introduced today, it would have been banned by the FDA as a harmful substance. Still, legalizing it means putting it in the hands of BUSINESS, which means lower prices and liability laws applying. (Can't sue a pot pusher if the stuff screws up your brain.) LEGALLY ELECTED President Trump did sign a nationwide HEMP LEGALIZATION bill. Here in Florida, hemp farmers are flourishing. Regular marijuana is sold here as medical marijuana, (but scripts are very easy to obtain.) I have a friend (owner of a successful seafood restaurant) who created a botanical business and made a fortune selling hemp products, kratom, CBD, etc. I've seen her in pictures with marijuana fields behind her. I joked with her that four years ago she would have been arrested for that picture. But she's doing very well now. One of her CBD drinks actually has a noticeable amount of THC (Tetrahydracannibanol) the psycho active agent in pot. Personally, I won't go near pot at all. Nor will I ingest anything with THC, mostly because I work for the best public schools in America and I wouldn't have gotten that job with THC in my system. Plus the stuff smells REALLY awful. I don't care if others do it, though. Just keep the smell away from me. And Oregon has decided to go full tilt BREAKING BAD with the hard drugs. Edited December 18, 2022 by reason10 Quote
