Argus Posted September 14, 2016 Author Report Posted September 14, 2016 You skipped the remainder of the post... It 'worked' ONLY because this guy made a remark that was picked up on and caused outrage. How many such cases went by unnoticed, not only from him but all the other judges out there with little training? Quote "A liberal is someone who claims to be open to all points of view — and then is surprised and offended to find there are other points of view.” William F Buckley
Peter F Posted September 14, 2016 Report Posted September 14, 2016 (edited) It 'worked' ONLY because this guy made a remark that was picked up on and caused outrage. Of course. How else would it work? How many such cases went by unnoticed, not only from him but all the other judges out there with little training? None? One? Why don't you tell us about all the cases that went by unnoticed and why they were unnoticed and why unnoticed things need dealing with? cybercoma Posted September 14, 2016 Report Posted September 14, 2016 Peter, you're not sufficiently outraged at these "hidden" problems. Quote
taxme Posted September 14, 2016 Report Posted September 14, 2016 How *are* judges appointed in Canada out of curiosity? Judges are appointed by the Crown on advice from the Prime Minister. Well, Trudeau should have a field day with that. Lets get as many of those liberal pro-multicultural judges in there as much as possible. I am looking forward to the day when a burka covered Muslim woman sits as judge in Canada. I don't think that I would want to be a woman or a gay person standing in front of a Muslim male judge. Guilty as charged, get out the stones or take the gay guy up to the roof. Hey, you never know. This is Canada, don't you know. Anything seems to go these days. Politicians and Canadians gave up on common sense and logic decades ago. Quote
taxme Posted September 14, 2016 Report Posted September 14, 2016 Canada has too many laws. Even judge are unfamiliar lots of them. How can you ask normal people not to break a law they don’t even know its existence. Most laws are meaningless and just tools for legal industry to profit from working people, it increases the cost of made-in-Canada products and services with other blood sucking blood-sucking carnivores in Canada’s economy. That is the reason that the job opportunity goes to China and other countries, and the intelligent property purchased by big companies of US when they acquire Canadian companies. So blame China or any other country is just a selfish politician’s behavior try to profit him/herself upon Canada’s lost. Only those people who can work and rely on themselves like Rob Ford can save Canada. Exactly. Canada has too many laws. There are too many provincial statutes, there are too many city bylaws, and there are too many rules and regulations. We are being smothered to death by all the laws that are on the books in Canada. And every year the politicians keep adding more. I have to wonder sometimes how many laws have I broken from the time I left the house and walked to the car? Just kidding but it feels that way. If the government or police want to nail someone on something they pretty much can because there is always a law or rule or regulation somewhere on the books that can be used against one. One does not have a chance if they want to get you. Rob Ford was a great Mayor for Toronto but the left wing loony liberal establishment hated the man because he was not one of them and didn't think like them. And the sad part is that most Canadians believed that Ford was bad as mayor, thanks in part to the controlled bias liberal media. Canada is truly being run by a bunch of politicians and judges that are really two bricks short of a load. Quote
taxme Posted September 14, 2016 Report Posted September 14, 2016 Diversity, mainly. Optics. Of course, they do have to know something about the law, but it's often not the first or most important criteria in the process. It would appear these days as though diversity is a requirement or soon will be a requirement in all government institutions. It is all about multiculturalism and nothing more. It seems as though the new Canada has to appear multicultural over everything else. Even common sense and logic cannot compete with political correctness and the pro-multicult politicians anymore. As you said, they do have to know something about the law, but not very much. How will a true Muslim be able to not show his/her bias and prejudice on the bench when it conflicts with their Islamic religion. Quote
Peter F Posted September 14, 2016 Report Posted September 14, 2016 Peter, you're not sufficiently outraged at these "hidden" problems. So I gather. Rose coloured glasses maybe. I wonder if Argus has ever heard of appeals courts where, on occasion, lower court decisions are overturned due to judges errors. Or even an appeals court decision is itself overturned by the SCC due to judicial error. Why the entire legal profession is full of incompetent boobs! Making mistakes all over the place! Quote A bayonet is a tool with a worker at both ends
cybercoma Posted September 15, 2016 Report Posted September 15, 2016 But there's no court to overturn the SCC, so the entire system is flawed. /s Quote
