Should the Fast Food industry be forced to post warnings about Obesity and related health risks on food packaging, like the Tobacco industry has to?

Do you think the government should force the Fast Food industry to put warnings on their food's packaging, considering the wide-spread Obesity in Canadian Society?

Considering the cost to the tax payers for treating Obesity and related health problems, should this industry be held up to the same standards as the Tobacco industry?

Smoking is inherently bad for you. Fast food is not. Faulty logic.

HELLO!!!!!

Ever heard of SUPER-SIZED portions?

Have you not been the latest stats on Obesity?

Scientists have DIRECTLY LINKED OBESITY and FAST FOOD!!!

FAST FOOD IS INHERENTLY BAD FOR YOU!!!!

In Australia most fast food companies (I don't know if they all do) provide nutritional information on whats in their food. I think this is the way to go. Just putting a warning on it saying "You could get fat" isn't at good as informing exactly whats in it so that people can determine how much they can safely eat. Thats my two cents.

are you telling me that my weekly visit to subway is un-healthy?

I would guess that your not, which leads me to conclude that Bad choices about fast food are unhealthy, not neccesarily a steak and cheese sub.

The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. - Ayn Rand

I think it appropriate to include a clear message stating that it is unhealthy to eat fast food more than once a week. Parents and schools should do more on this matter.
