maplesyrup Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 Liberal threats alleged It is time for Immigration Minister Sgro to go, and for there to be an inquiry into her ministry that seems to be involved with threats, intimidation, strippers, strip clubs, prostitution, tax evasion, immigration fraud, and who knows what else. What in the world is our Canadian government coming to getting mixed up in all this low-life underworld stuff? ndpnic Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 The importation of strippers needs to stop. Because this has been allowed, strip clubs have turned into brothels. The average strip club pays $60/shift- 8/10hrs. You say "those girls make more money than me!", not true, because everyone coming into the has that attitude, so the girls make noine some nights. Now, girls are actuallt getting thrown out of clubs for refusing to allow customers to touch them. I asked an owner of a club in SImcoe "when did stripper become synonomous with prostitute?", to wich he replied "if men just wanted to see naked women, they could go home and turn on music videos"! More Canadian women would go back to the clubs if owners were required to pay $10/hr, and since they have to claim the income at tax time, they should be entitled to some maternity benefits! Quote
maplesyrup Posted November 26, 2004 Author Report Posted November 26, 2004 Embattled minister promises changes to exotic dancer rules A bit too late, at least as far as the minister holding onto her job, I would say. maplesyrup Posted November 26, 2004 Author Report Posted November 26, 2004 Susan Delecourt said on Politics today that there is a growing backlash in Canada against the Conservative witch hunt against women concerning their attacks against Judy Sgro during Question Period. Maybe PM Martin will have a little cabinet shuffle over the holidays, eh! Quote An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. maplesyrup Posted November 27, 2004 Author Report Posted November 27, 2004 Want to go to Canada? Learn dancing NEW DELHI: TV channels aren’t the only ones looking for item bombs who can shake it. Exotic dancing could be your visa to Canadian citizenship. It may sound an odd job, but the Canadians can’t do without it. At the moment, Latinos and East Europeans have been performing well for them. Canadian rules classify ‘exotic dancing’ as a job that the labour department monitors for shortages. Making it easier, especially for women, to emigrate and fill Canada’s ‘exotic dancing’ needs. The nature of the job makes it controversial and brings up the charge of trafficking and sex trade. Quite the nice little international reputation we are developing, aren't we! Quote An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. theloniusfleabag Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 Dear maplesyrup, While I have no problem with 'exotic dancing', I agree we don't need to import any via gov't assistance. If the industry is suffering from shortages, then the industry needs to offer higher wages, benefits, etc. to take care of it's own problems. Besides, how can we be importing strippers when we need doctors? I blame the free enterprise system. Choke Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 We could always ban strip-clubs entirely, that'd solve the problem Quote

kimmy Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 Is it true that in Ontario the strippers don't get an appearance fee, and they only get money by selling lap-dances? If that's the case, no wonder they need to import women from poor countries. Maybe instead of lobbying for favors from Immigration, these businessmen should re-examine the way they compensate the dancers. -kimmy Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)
