DFCaper Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 (edited) Cut the patent protection window in half, and flood the market with cheap generics. I used to think that without the patent protection, that R&D would dry up. but when I see how small the percentage of money that pharmaceuticals spend on R&D, I bet reducing the patent life in half would have little to no effect on R&D spending.. Yeah the government should not be in the business of protecting corporate profits for 10-15 years. Patent protection should just 2-5 years... just long enough to allow the company to get "first movers advantage". Quote I question things because I am human. TimG Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 Private insurance purchased yourself or got through your work, can cover the 10-20% as well, just like like in France.Individual insurance is almost never worth the cost because your premiums are always increased to recover whatever you claimed in previous years. overthere Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 As to any nastiness towards first nations people in my post; as I am engaged to an aboriginal person, and love her more than I ever could have imagined loving anyone, I'm going to have to attribute what you're feeling to your own victim mentality. Then I suggest you spread the love just a little bit and demonstrate some compassion beyond your personal life. the pharmacy will stop sending them. That's the difference I'm talking about. Every pharmacy in Canada will stop sending drugs when the prescription ends. Or are you saying a prescription written to a First Nations patient has no limit, that they can renew for the remainder of their life without any physician consent? Quote Science too hard for you?
