It blows me away that people like that lady who just returned to Vancouver after being taken hostage in Iraq, would even go to Iraq in the first place. Why would anyone be stupid enough to put themselves in harm's way like that? One would think that enough people have been taken hostage in Iraq with some even beheaded, that it would send a message that visitors are not welcome, regardless of your reasons for being there. The types of people within Iraq that are seizing these hostages are not fussy who they grab up, nor does it seem to matter what the heritage of these people is.

I don't feel one bit sorry for anyone who would knowingly put themselves at risk in a country htta shows so little value on human life.
