Topaz Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 My view is that for some people it is, the ones that they thyroid problem, were they gain weight, no matter how much little they eat. I would like to see Health Canada start monitoring our food more and tell the processors to take out the high amount of salt, sugar, and fat in the process foods, which most people eat more of and because of all that unhealthy food out there, people have to exercise, just to maintain a healthier body. Thoughts? http://ca.news.yahoo.com/blogs/pulseofcanada/obesity-really-disease-181604367.html Quote
GostHacked Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 No it is not a disease. And those with thyroid issues may need to change something in their lifestyle that will resolve this issue. My mother falls into this category with the thyroid issue. She is quite active for an old gal, but still cannot loose the weight, but she still loved the sodas, junk food and other crap. So she would need to make a choice there in order to at least help resolve the issue. So no I could not consider it a disease, and should not be classified as one. I have come to the conclusion it's not how much you eat, but WHAT you eat. Quote
Topaz Posted June 26, 2013 Author Report Posted June 26, 2013 On Dr Oz show, it was reported that after some investigation, the food industry puts things into the food to make some people, if not all, addict to process food like chips, burgers, soda, ice cream etc. Quote
