TheNewTeddy Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 In Alberta, AISH gives you $1,588 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assured_Income_for_the_Severely_Handicapped And, you get transit pass discounts. You could get a transit pass for Edmonton AND Calgary combined and still pay $30 less than you would for a similar pass in Toronto. Quote Feel free to contact me outside the forums. The most conservative province in the country, by a large margin, treats its disabled with dignity and respect even having subsidized transit while Ontario, a virtual socialist wonderland is lagging way behind. TheNewTeddy Posted October 15, 2012 Report Posted October 15, 2012 Ontario is not "socialist" The most successful countries (and provinces/states) use capitalism to generate wealth and use socialist elements to redistribute it. All of them from New Hampshire to North Korea. Ontario uses socialism to not generate wealth and capitalism to not redistribute it. We learn from Quebec it seems.
