So it's been discovered that the Moai have full bodies buried into the ground. The full bodies below the dirt reveal pictographs and other interesting information.

I thought when I was a kid I read about this already, I just cannot recall, but wow. This is pretty big news in an archeological sense ... Maybe the statues are much older than guess at first.
