CAIRO — Over 50,000 Egyptian protesters flocked to Cairo's Tahrir Square Friday to pressure the military government to transfer power to elected civilian rule, after the cabinet tried to enshrine the army's role in a constitutional proposal.

If the military does not hand over control to the civilian government (or what will be the civilian government) we will see more demonstrations and ... more blood on the streets.

I have a feeling we will see this in the other countries that had their Arab Spring.

There will be no happy ending in Egypt. If the demonstrators get their way the sizable secular minority will face a bloodbath. If they don't the demonstrations won't stop.

Man, I hope so for all those people's sake but I fear that jbg is unfortunately right. Fundamentalists always refuse to allow other citizens to make their own choices, especially if they are holding guns!

There's going to be a lot of blood, I'm afraid. I wonder if the same folks that wanted us to stay out of Afghanistan want us to do the same with Egypt or Syria? As the death toll of innocents mounts up you have to be a hard case indeed to be indifferent.

If we see any action in a place like Syria it will be an air campaign similar to that of Libya.

Oh please,, NATO has never been interested in saving innocent civillians from their own country

If NATO went anywhere it was to protect their own interests

We should not get involved in any civil war
