Archanfel Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 Unless Horvath and Hudak can come up with a way of either making up the lost revenue or reduce spending, this kind of motion is pretty pointless. While I am generally against taxes, replacing income taxes with consumption taxes is actually a good thing. I will be happy if the government can find some savings (like stop defined benefit pensions starting from the MPPs) and remove the HST, but not if it means higher debt or higher income taxes. Quote
TwoDucks Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 How about a bit less in subsidies for that financial sinkhole of Toronto? Given what you're saying here, is it correct for me to assume that you think that Toronto is a net drain on Ontario? Quote
Topaz Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 Today, in the hydro bill I see the hydro rates for Hydro One has come up, so much for the 10% discount. As of today, on peak went from 10.7 to 10.8. mid-peak 8.9 to 9.2 and off-peak from 5.9 to6.2 cents per kWH. Quote
