bud Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 Guys like bud love to trot out their 'good jews' whenever they can find one. it shouldn't have to hurt you and there is no need for you to react like this when jews criticize israel's actions and fight for palestinian rights. many of the leading figures in the fight for palestinian rights are jewish and many live in israel. kind of like how many of the leading figures who helped to end the apartheid in south africa were south african whites. jacee Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 Sorry Argus, but the precedent has been set at Caledonia. If you have a beef with the federal, provincial and municipal governments it is apparently perfectly legal and acceptable to take it out on the nearest entire town of white folks! What's more, if you complain that they blew up your electricity for a few days you must be a racist! Gospel according to Dalton McGuinty and Julian Fantino. Also, of course, the usual native spokespeople on MLW. "White folks"? When did Caledonia become entirely comprised of "white folks"? Of course the fact that the nearest town was attempting to build on disputed land without consultation and accommodation of Aboriginal rights had nothing to do with it? Afterall, 'white rights' must remain supreme, in your privileged perspective? The unfortunate thing for the people of Caledonia is that those like you Bill, promoting the 'white rights' perspective at their expense , don't even live in Caledonia! I suggest you promote your 'white rights' agenda in your own neighbourhood instead. Quote

Argus Posted September 13, 2011 Report Posted September 13, 2011 I suggest you promote your 'white rights' agenda in your own neighbourhood instead. He's not talking about white rights. He's talking about fundamental justice and the rule of law. McGuinty ignored both in his sniveling cowardice at the prospect of having to take the same bad publicity if the cops hurt some natives he had gleefully heaped upon the Harris government after he took power. Bob Posted September 13, 2011 Report Posted September 13, 2011 Oh they do but it's a multiparty system like ours with a 40-60 split. There is no such thing even remotely resembling democracy among the "Palestinians". Fatah is already years past the conclusion of its original mandate, and the "elections" are highly questionable. Most importantly, political opponents murders and intimidate one another. This assertion that they have a "multiparty system" like ours is a just another example of your complete obliviousness of how things actually over here. Lastly, when an anti-democratic party like Hamas has such support among these Arabs, you know there's a problem. Democracy is a lot more than "one vote, one time". bud Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Orchestra suspends four musicians who opposed Israeli musicians' concert London Philharmonic Orchestra punishes cellist and violinists who wanted Proms appearance by Israeli players cancelled The LPO suspended cellist Sue Sutherley and violinists Tom Eisner, Nancy Elan and Sarah Streatfeild until June 2012 after they signed a letter as members of the LPO denouncing the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO) as an instrument of the country's propaganda. It said: "Denials of human rights and violations of international law are hidden behind a cultural smokescreen. The IPO is perhaps Israel's prime asset in this campaign … Israel's policy towards the Palestinians fits the UN definition of apartheid." Other signatories of the letter, which appeared in the Independent newspaper two days before the concert, included: the composer Raymond Deane; violinists Catherine Ford and Roy Mowatt (of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment); violinist Susie Meszaros (of the Chilingirian Quartet); and 16 other musicians. link Quote http://whoprofits.org/
Rue Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 (edited) http://www.jewsforajustpeace.com/ 1-My understanding is that the majority of people in Israel itself support Palestinian independence. 2-The hardline right wing government is the perpetrator of violence and obstacles against achieving peace, apparently preferring blood and guts revenge and wallowing in angst over civilized behaviour, defense expenditures over housing, bombing children over educating them, etc. Perhaps support of Jews abroad will give Israelis the courage to throw the perps out of power. In regards to 1, yes that is a fact. The suverys have indicated as such. For that matter so has the government you describe in 2. In regards to 2, you engage in precisely the kind of simplistic black and white name calling and stereotyping we see time and time againon this board. Are you that intellectually limited that you need to reduce a very complex series of issues into name calling and creating a bad guy to scapegoat to make the conflict make sense to you? Do you really need to reduce this complex conflict into a wrestlings script? What am I the good Jew Goldberg or the bad Jew,Diamond Dallas Page. (oh yes both Jews you know) Enough. First off don't patronize me as a Jew. I am not some wrestler in tights you can cheer or boo. Ditch the script. I expect that from Bud not from you. Got news for you most of us Jews who support Israel have always supported a Palestinian state. Always have so don't patronize us. Don't make references to me and Jews like me as some stereotype you can portray for your own political agenda. Piss off. I do not need you to tell me what I think or why I think that way or to paint me as a good Jew as opposed to the poo poo kaka demon Jew you list above and suggest bad Jews go around hissing at Palestinians. Save your stereotypes. You hear me? Oh I hope so because every day you come on here and speak on behalf of Jews and how we feel and patronize our beliefs. Enough. Bud we expect it from what's your in the name of being tolerant and liberal but you are doing the exact opposite. You reduce us to this pathetic stereotype. Do I look like I want to be your cuddly Jew that you can wind up from the back and will squawk and walk the way you want it to? Hmmmm? Do I look like I want you patting my head and saying there now who's a good Jew. What next will you throw some lox at me and tell me to sit? Yes there are extremists in the Knesset. Yes there are fundamentalist Jews and extremist political parties in Israel and who support Netanyahu so? Yes I disagree with his politics, so? Are you suggesting the entire conflict in Israel has only come about because of Nertanyahu or Likud or Lieberman or the crack pot extremist settlers? Really? Here we go again. Oh wait...the conflict can't possibly deal as well with Muslim fundamentalists and terrorists and their hatred of Jews as institutionalized and legalized through state apartheid called dhimmitude. Nah. Let's just skip that right? Not one Arab in the Middle East has blood on their hands or is responsible for the conflict right? Its all those bad Jews' faults. Let's just cut to the chase shall we? It's bad Jews who caused all the problems. Bad Jews? Oh you know the ones YOU DEEM bad. Who you an anti semite inciting hatred against Jews who support their right to a collective identity through a state. Oh no. Not you. No no no some of your best friends are anti Zionist Jews and you never would mention they have big noses. Never. That would be hateful of course. I May support a Palestinian state but I also detest terrorism and people like Bud who apologize for Hamas and support its terrorist campaign to dismantle Israel. I also despise people like you who patronize Jews like me and claim to speak for me and know how I feel. Get this clear-the fact I consider Palestinians human and believe they have suffered and deserve a country and disagree with Netanyahu's policies does not mean I do not think Jews have suffered and have an equal right to our own country. Don't patronize me. Supporting Palestinians does not mean I have to agree to dismantle Israel, and support international criminals whose mandate is to continue to terrorize innocent Jews world over as well as Israeli citizens and anyone who supports Israel's right to exist. The Palestinians can run their lives freely in the framework of self-rule, but not as an independent and sovereign state. Thus, for example, in matters of foreign affairs, security, immigration and ecology, their activity shall be limited in accordance with imperatives of Israel's existence, security and national needs.
