I rest my case. If we ban alcohol - make it illegal and throw all persistent drinkers in jail - then we can focus more resources on the lesser problem of crack use.

I am favour of status quo and diversion programs to deal with addicts. This approach addresses the real issue (addiction) while avoiding endless arguments or the morality of drugs and avoids annoying the American border officials with the power to make life difficult for Canadians.
