Amazing Kreskin lived up to his billing yesterday when it was revealed on CTV that he predicted the Liberals winning 135 seats in Monday's election.

Kreskin says he made his prediction May 25, put it in a duct-taped box, then into a safe on the set of CTV's Countdown. Yesterday, on the network's Canada AM, the mentalist returned to unveil his coded prediction.

"My statement was that I thought Martin's Liberals would win," he said from New Jersey yesterday. "What made it scary is the last few days, everybody was saying it was neck-and-neck. That was a nightmare. I was going to be done."

But the pollsters proved no match for the American "thought reader."

An EKOS Research poll, released two days before the election, pegged the Liberals at 117 seats and Conservatives at 109.

LOL.,but no.The polls should be halted 6 months before any election,let Canadians vote on the real issues,instead of being sheep once again and voting as the polls dictate.

I think the polls, more than anything else, were responsible for the Conservatives defeat.

When Canadians saw that the Conservatives were leading in the polls, enough of them switched to the Liberals to ensure Harper's defeat.

Such a shame though,we almost had a chance of responsible gov. for a [nice] change.
