Topaz Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 The new Windsor-Detroit bridge, is heating up on the US side and the private owner, a billionare, is doing everything he can to stop it. Both, Michigan and Canada say they need it but the owner says he traffic is lower and he also said on a local radio, that he would build andother span but Canada is pushing for part ownership of the bridge. This bridge is part of the of the super highways being built without North Amercia for trade. http://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/Debate-new-US-Canada-bridge-capress-3280551099.html Quote
Bonam Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 Seems a situation like this is precisely where a PPP setup for building infrastructure would be ideal. That's the model that has been used for a lot of bridges in BC lately, and this Moroun guy would probably go for something like that. That being said, him owning a bridge doesn't give him any veto power over other bridges being built to "compete" with his. Quote
