Michael Hardner Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 Maybe he's interested. Here's a comment from his Facebook page, yesterday: For the second time in two and a half years, I awake to news that the Liberal Party Executive has made decisions about the Party's future - although this time they have made the opposite decisions - interim leader can't run for the permanent job, and yes, the Party can quickly organise a speedy virtual convention. Funny thing, that. Seems to be paying a lot of attention to these things. I guess he IS interested. I love Bob Rae's humour, his intelligence, his gentle common sense but he is going to have to come up with a great reason for middle Canada to vote for him at this point. The election results are being interpreted as a coup for the conservatives - in that they recaptured the blue Liberals that feared the revival of the NDP. I love Bob, but I don't see this going much further. At best, he can provide guidance to a new youth movement not led by Justin Trudeau. Posc Student Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 Rae would probably be happier joining the Official Opposition. Quote
madmax Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 (edited) Rae would probably be happier joining the Official Opposition. LOL.. I doubt the NDP want anything to do with Bob Rae... or ...Ujjal Dosanjh When Provincial Conservatives Premiers destroy their party, the Party just invents a new name and moves on. When Failed NDP Premiers botch things up, they move to the Liberals... and now... where do they go.... I believe the NDP view of these two is goodbye and Good riddence..and has been for quite some time.. Neither were good New Democrats or Good Leaders..once getting the reigns of power.. madmax Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 It's not easy being a New Democrat and a good leader. Of course its not easy, which is why those that have performed well are many of the best Provincial Premiers Canada has ever had. Just the same, its the reason why the NDP has the most balanced budgets of any political party, and that doesn't include the Tommy Douglas era of 5 terms of Consecutive Balanced budgets.. Quote
Tilter Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 Rae would probably be happier joining the Official Opposition. Again. Actually normal for a teetertotter. Quote
