Jack Weber Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 That won't be the biggest lie he tells us......just the most recent. It won't be a Coalition because Mike has promised not to do that....it will be a Cooperative. The Canadian people will demand it immediately after rejecting the Liberals at the polls. Or some such bullshit. A Tory minority will be Ignatieffs last and only chance to be PM. He won't pass it by, it is the only reason he has stuck around this long and it is the only reason I can see that he forced an election with the laughable contempt citation. Of course he may not get the chance, as I predict a Tory majority. Buh-bye Iggy, hello next interim leader. Ralph Goodale? Cooperative... Is'nt that what Mr. Harper said he was doing in 2004?? It can't be that bad then, can it? Quote The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!
ToadBrother Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Cooperative... Is'nt that what Mr. Harper said he was doing in 2004?? It can't be that bad then, can it? The Tories must be breaking out their thesauruses to look for synonyms for "coalition". Quote

Keepitsimple Posted March 29, 2011 Author Report Posted March 29, 2011 Cooperative... Is'nt that what Mr. Harper said he was doing in 2004?? It can't be that bad then, can it? Yes it is....and no, it's not bad. Opposition parties are perfectly entitled to work together to press the government to consider their policies and if the government turns a deaf ear, they are entitled to bring the government down - that's what just happened.....and it's exactly what Harper, Duceppe and Layton proposed back in 2004 - don't just force an unwanted election - make sure thew GG knows that the opposition parties are still willing to work with the government. The problem back then was that Martin wanted every little thing to be a confidence vote - thus either neutoring the opposition or heading back to the polls in far less than a year. The fact remains that all three opposition members denied there aws a coalition. Either Duceppe and Layton were lying then.....or they are lying now. Quote Back to Basics
