Haven't you heard it is Jack Layton's fault if he didn't vote down the Liberal government Paul Martin would have created the program it sometime in the next 75 years.

Yes, but we might sanely say, "Fuck tradition."

You said "women want to have their cake and eat it too," that "they want careers and family."

That's exactly the same as men. There's no difference.

Unless you think, for some unstated reason, that men are more....deserving of such things.

Any man want to bear a baby? Can anyone change that? Is that fair according that logic?

Respect different people's different work and respect natural rules makes world better.

The result of the thinking "Women want to have their cake and eat it too" did not make women eat more cake, they just eat the same amount as before, but the family of a man and a woman pay more time and work but not eat more, only the bosses, banks, governments takes more from their works.

People are responsible for the raising of their own children. People shouldn't be having children if they cannot afford to pay for them. We have condoms now I heard they work pretty good.

It's entirely unfair for you to a child then tell me that I have to pay for it. Take some personal responsibility for your own lives.

Five years on, children still wait for quality care

Are they orphans?

If the parents are both @ work then they might be street orphans.

I think Quebec already has a national daycare system that's $5-$8 / day.

This simply reduces the burden on families, many of them single parent. The parents can be productive & don't have to dispose of their livelihoods because they want a family. I bet the taxes that the mommies fork over @ year-end because of having a career would easily outweigh the government's cost of the daycare.

Childcare doesn't have to be more mysterious than medicare.

I have no idea, however, if the program is self-sustaining or costly, or not. Maybe it's cheaper than prisons. I see the flaw in these message boards now. We all have baseless idiological opinions that require professional input. Experts should agree to moderate these forums.

It isn't my responsibility to raise someone else's children. If the people cannot afford to have kids they shouldn't be having them. It isn't fair for them to have the children then ask me to pay for it.

While that is true ideologically, and I agree with the sentiment, there is also the reality that we have a declining and aging population, which is kept growing only by an absurdly high immigration rate. Given that we live in a mixed socialist system and that this is very unlikely to change, there may not be any other practical solutions.
