Bonam Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 (edited) So just a few minutes ago the Dragon spacecraft successfully deployed its parachutes on its return to Earth after a successful launch on the SpaceX Falcon 9 and several orbits. It is the first time a commercial spacecraft has successfully been launched, orbited, and re-entered the Earth's atmosphere. A very exciting day for space enthusiasts, as it hopefully ushers in a new era of commercial space flight. Launch video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-ci9xIgNZM&feature=player_embedded#! Hopefully we'll see confirmation of successful landing and recovery in a few minutes. Edit: Soft landing confirmed: http://spaceflightnow.com/falcon9/002/status.html Edited December 8, 2010 by Bonam Quote
DogOnPorch Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 It's still freaky to see how hot that thing gets. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
