Topaz Posted December 4, 2010 Author Report Posted December 4, 2010 One thing that doesn't seem working is the corporations who get a lower tax,(too much, I think) and yet manufacturing has left Canada to go to Mexico, India and China. They leave because the wages and the benefits paid to workers, which IF workers here were making what those other workers are being paid, would probably do better on welfare. So now we have taxpayers carrying the taxes burden because of lower corporate taxes. We also have the tax payer suporting workers who couldn't find jobs and had to go to welfare or living on the street. Where is the government when it comes to THE PEOPLE. Where is the GOVERMENT for this poor NORTEL pensioners and the people with disabilites who will soon have to live on the street. Everyday, the oppositon ask the Tories this and everyday the Tories give their speeches but their actions are different from the words....no good. Quote
charter.rights Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 the stimulus wasn't meant to provide jobs. It was created to make more debt, which in turn means we owe corporations much more than we did before the crash. That gives them power, and will cause our government to capitulate to the US corporations the next time we want to go it alone. Harper's $1 billion party for G8/G20 ultimately did the same thing. It just created more debt. NO jobs. No real benefits. Just another $1 billion plus interest added to the burgeoning Canadian debt.
