Topaz Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 Yes, the Tories got a scolding form the Speaker today for the leaking of the finance documents to 3-5 lobbyists. Is anyone surprised? As it was pointed out today by the NDP, when the Tories want something kept secret that do, but when they want information out there they leak it. Will the government do the same thing as they did to Goodale and call in the RMCP? Probably not, after all, THEY are above the law! http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/ottawa-notebook/speaker-scolds-tories-over-budget-leak/article1818021/ Quote
Smallc Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 (edited) I believe that the NDP called the RCMP on the Department of Finance in late 2005, not the Conservatives. Edited November 30, 2010 by Smallc Quote

Yes, you are right, BUT the Tories took it further during the election saying tha this was just another Adscam by the Liberals taking the taxpayers money. The Libs didn't have a chance to win after that and later after the election is was proven Goodale did nothing wrong. Quote

That is true. It turned out not to be fair, and it's probably why the Liberals lost the election. Quote

But "Following a 15 month RCMP investigation, a Director General of Taxation within the Department has been charged with breach of public trust for insider trading on advance knowledge of the announcement." Which had nothing to do with the Liberal Party of Canada. Quote
