Muddy Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 We would use the planets resources to survive, what do we need to survive. Food, water, shelter. We will get these things for everyone, you will no longer will have to work to have food, water or shelter. I'm talking about eliminating free trade all together, no capitalism, no socialism, no economy, just us working together to make the world a better place for all of us. I don't like how we have upper, middle and lower class. We all deserve to have the same opportunities and benefits as each other. The creative mind will never cease to exist, we will always have challenges that will face us in the future. Eliminating copyrights and patents would let information flow freely, everyone would be able to use and expand on that information. In every sector of society from the economy to politics we compete against each other, why? We would be far more prosperous if we all worked together for the greater good of everyone. Right now it seems like we are slaves to the super rich. I want change and not Obama change. You want us to go back to our roots do you. Living in caves, gathering and hunting for food? That sort of thing? People on earth from the lowest evolved to the mighty live better today than at any time in history. That includes nutrition, health care and longevity. It is the human nature to give our offspring a better shot at life than the what we had. It is impossible to find a utopia that will not have social climbers and those who know best for mankind. Look at you! Your one! Quote

Look at you! Your one! No, I don't think we should go back to living in caves. I'm saying we should move forward, evolve society. What we have now doesn't work. Right now we are sitting doing nothing to stop the murder of people just like us, we are fucked in the head. We care more about making money then helping each other. Before society changes I think our mentality towards life must change. Our leaders are misleading us. You're up against the same problem we've had since Man came down from the trees. Some people have an instinctive work ethic but most don't. Back in the late 60's there were all kinds of communes out west. Some friends of mine visited one and told me how the commune had been forced to institute a custom. Everybody new was given 3 days grace, but not told about it! During those 3 days the regular commune members would watch them. Some folks had the manners to try to earn their keep, helping with chores and the farming for the food that fed them all. Unfortunately, most spent their 3 days getting high and sitting on their ass, while eating the food that others had worked to grow and cook! On the 3rd night they would have a campfire where everyone would attend. They would ask a newcomer who had failed his grace period to stand up and then told him that he would have to leave! The regulars would all start to sing "Hit the road Jack, and don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more!" Some of the lazy buggers were shocked and left in tears but it didn't matter. The commune had learned the hard way that they just couldn't support freeloaders. It wasn't just the fairness of having everybody contribute. It was just that the more people there were the more the work had to be done and a few hard workers could never do all the work for a large group that sat on their ass but still ate! While you're making a wish, wish up a pony for me! Quote "A government which robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul." -- George Bernard Shaw "There is no point in being difficult when, with a little extra effort, you can be completely impossible."

I understand what you are saying, but we now have the internet, robots, computers and the knowledge to make almost any sort of machine we want or need. Almost every job that we need right now could be replaced by machines in due time. We could free up our time and finally have time to just be. I am dreaming, I know that, dream is destiny. Let me know when you have a working replicator or nano-assembler along with a limitless free energy source and you may have a point. Until then, humans still need to do work. Oh, and we already have plenty of time to "just be". A typical work week is 40 hours. That leaves 128 hours each week for you to do whatever else you want. When I was working (as opposed to going to university), I was utterly astounded by the sheer amount of free time that I had. Quote
