bloodyminded Posted May 7, 2010 Author Report Posted May 7, 2010 The story is a myth. Maybe, just maybe, it might be based on some vast flood in the Tigris-Euphrates basin. But extrapolating from that possibility the truth of a global flood is like confirming that there was probably some sort of Trojan War during the Greek Dark Age and then declaring that the Olympian Gods exist. Yes. It is exactly the same logic. Which begs the question as to why we are to defer "judgment" on the Christian myths...but to tacitly accept that the others aren't accurate. No one is here defending the "possibility" that Orpheus was a real guy who actually descended to a place called Hades; or that the Manitou was a real, living being.
