eyeball Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 We had a bunch of fresh spawn in Barkley Sound the last few days as well. It's created quite the feeding opportunity for at least 5 gray whales, a couple of hundred sea lions and I counted 50 or more eagles. I won't be surprised if we see double the number of whales today. msj Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 With apologies to M. Dancer and TrueMetis: A youtube video is worth a 1000 whats? Context is everything, something youtube never seems to provide. I've seen more spawn in a Maple Leafs game. I don't trust videos like these. eyeball Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 I understand you might see a squid at a hockey game but spawn? As for Barkley today we did in fact have twice as many whales but they turned out to be orca. The grays didn't seem the least bit perturbed and after the orca chowed down a sealion or two the other couple hundred settled down too. I should get a video camera and a youtube account.
