Kane of the Ontario Superior Court last week granted MPs Dion, Maurizio Bevilacqua, Hedy Fry, Joe Volpe, Martha Hall Findlay and Gerard Kennedy until the end of 2011 to pay off their debts. Source So I guess that being a Liberal can mean that there's no need to pay back debts at all. I also enjoy how people deny that Elections Canada isn't a secret arm of the Liberal Party. This ruling is certainyly showing some favortism. RAe and Ignatieff both paid of their debts. As much as I wish they hadn't as I intensely dislike these two fellows but they have done so in a timely manner. We keep hearing about the new Liberal fundrising power. Is the pot dry already? Are they keeping all the money locked away for an election campaign? They must have the money to pay these off. Is EC going to keep giving extensions forever or will this law ever be enforced? If this was the Tories, the Liberals and the media would be going crazy but since it's the cuddly guys in red we hear almost nothing. They did not do it in a timely manner at all this is their third extensions and Dion did not pay his until his second. Quote
