jdobbin Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 Me too. Those photos of a grinning Idiot, Socialist and Separatist shaking hands are pure gold. Tonight, they had the video of Harper, Duceppe and Layton from their own coalition. Pure gold. Quote
jdobbin Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 (edited) Something said to rally supporters at an event closed to the media, doesn't exactly mean it will be the main theme of the campaign. Here is the ad they are putting out now. The Liberals have lashed out at a Tory ad that seeks to raise fears about a possible coalition government, in a glimpse of the no-holds-barred campaigns both parties would unleash in a fall election.Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff "will do whatever it takes to get power, even signing the coalition pact with the Bloc Quebecois and NDP," a narrator says in the ad, which began airing this week. "Can we risk our economic recovery on someone who's just in it for himself?" The Liberals responded: The press release also includes a quote from former Harper adviser and political scientist Tom Flanagan, saying of the coalition threat: "It doesn't have to be true, it just has to be plausible." M.Dancer Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 "Can we risk our economic recovery on someone who's just in it for himself?" We can't. We shouldn't and we won't. Quote RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us
Who's Doing What? Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 (edited) So, now the Cons are the ones running around yelling "scary, scary, scary." What say you now CPC supporters? You who have ridiculed the LPC for the same damn thing. Oh right. Silly me I forgot the #2 rule in the CPC hand book. "B-b-b-but the Liberals..." If the Liberals did something then it is perfectly ok for the CPC to do the same regardless of how much they screamed and frothed at the mouth about it when the Libs were doing it. Heck it started with Emerson and hasn't stopped since. Where is the integrity we were promised? Edited September 14, 2009 by Who's Doing What? Quote Harper differed with his party on some key policy issues; in 1995, for example, he was one of only two Reform MPs to vote in favour of federal legislation requiring owners to register their guns. http://www.mapleleafweb.com/election/bio/harper.html "You've got to remember that west of Winnipeg the ridings the Liberals hold are dominated by people who are either recent Asian immigrants or recent migrants from eastern Canada: people who live in ghettoes and who are not integrated into western Canadian society." (Stephen Harper, Report Newsmagazine, January 22, 2001)
Jerry J. Fortin Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 Partisan politics is like that folks. It is one of the reasons why I favour independent candidates. Quote
