It is to our credit, I think, that we are reluctant to deport people, even criminals, to places where they might be, by our standards, mistreated. But I think we are too easily convinced of this, to the point where we almost need proof these days that someone will not be mistreated, before we will agree to get rid of them. There are rapists, child molesters and a wide variety of other violent foreigners wandering the streets of Canada because we don't deport them. I think there comes a time when we should think more about the safety of Canadians than the safety of criminal foreigners, and expedite their removal from Canada.

At the very least, we should, if we're going to keep such people here, lock them away in some kind of detention centre or camp until they're able to go home. Leaving them on the streets is not a satisfactory solution. The following cite is particular vexatious as I clearly recall this man's earlier crimes. They were so notorious they were detailed on one of those American crime shows - I think it was 911 Emergency", and now he's been convicted again, this time of raping, murdering and setting a woman on fire - who happened to be one of those soft hearted individuals who worked to have him kept in Canada rather than deported as he should have been.

What's there to check - I check the title Crimminals not deported or properly jailed - have you ever considered that the powers that be hold YOU upper and lower middle management and you servants in loathing and contempt for your greed lazyness and stupidity - mabybe they do not deport and do release crimminals to harass the crap out of you - and rightfully so. Because YOU are crimminals - just the clean and proud kind.

So let me get this straight. Because we managed to deport a criminal to India - after going all the way to the Supreme Court, and spending God only knows how many hundreds of thousands in legal fees - his as well as ours - and only taking four or five years to do it - there's no problem. Is that basically your position?

So...we have one deported, and one convicted.

Seems pretty good to me. Perhaps there is more cites with respect to rapists, child molesters and a wide variety of other violent foreigners wandering the streets of Canada because we don't deport them

That's hard to determine. Immigration Canada refuses to say. But thousands...

W-FIVE tried to find out how many criminals are at large in Canada waiting to be deported. Immigration wouldn't tell us. And we asked for an interview with Alain Jolicoeur, president of the Canada Border Services Agency and the man in charge of deporting criminals. But he refused.

But an Immigration Department report obtained by W-FIVE offers some insight: In 2003, in Toronto alone, 1,704 criminals, ordered out of the country had yet to be deported.

Here's a cite with a few more rapists for you...

I think the way it works is that the average Canadian has to wait until a politican or a VIP gets killed, then deportion is swift! It's like the politicans passing a bill, if it doesn't mean much to them it takes weeks if not months BUT if it a rise in their pay it done in less than 24 hours!!

FYI-The deportation process can't be started until the Criminal process is exhausted-as it stands both those racers have been punished it took a while but the system did work.

This is simple stuff you know.

Note-I have a personal interest in this case since I drive/cycle the street where that happened all the time-did Friday afternoon in fact.

If the system had worked Tehrankari would have been deported after his sentence was completed and Barbara Galway would not have been murdered.

Apparently the concept is too difficult for some.

I am all for immigration of people who will a credit and potential industrious citizens. But once someone who immigrates to this wonderful land and abuses our hospitality they should be given the bums rush out of here. Unlike physicians and other trades we have no shortage of criminals, home grown or other wise.
