maplesyrup Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 New Democratic Party leader Jack Layton coloured his party's election platform green Wednesday, hailing his party as the choice for voters serious about fighting climate change and cleaning the air.Mr. Layton said the NDP's environmental platform is a real plan to create jobs with renewable energy, while still meeting Canada's Kyoto commitments on climate change. “Canada can build a green and prosperous economy," Mr. Layton said in a statement. "We can create jobs as we clean our air and water. We can build for tomorrow by becoming a world leader in renewable energy, and I am proud to lead the only party listening to Canadians when they say that's what they want.” Full Article I find it very refreshing that the NDP has come of age federally. Finally we have a party to vote for that is not in the pocket of Bay Street, that is going to represent the average Canadian, rather than the corporate elite. Canada needs a good shakeup and Jack Layton and the NDP are the ones to do it. Quote An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you do know and what you don't. Anatole France
