Oleg Bach Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 This unfortunate and embarassing incident was a turning point in policy. There is one key figure now that literally tossed the dear President out of Iraq. It was a common journalist who looked around his nation and noticed that American involvement in Iraq had inadvertently killed more civilians in a short span than Saddam. The shoe toss was ironic - they tossed shoes at Saddam and now at their supposed liberator. What will be key at this point is how that shoe tosser will be treated. If he is brutalized - or tortured or confined any longer than a term fit for common assault..then there will be hell to pay in the long run. AND if this journalist is executed then all that was done in Iraq that may be positive will be for not. Let the Iraqis have their victory in the tossing of a bit of foot ware - Let them have their pride and asteem back..the pride of the out going American administration is still great - If some bitter man like Cheney wants reprisals because HIS pride is hurt then it will show bad faith and prove beyond a doubt that the Bushites are liars. Pride can be restored...Bush had shown himself to be a good man during this altercation with the shoe...to bad he was not allowed to show his heart during his tenure. The whole matter is quite funny...but in reality - a classic historic event...The journalist was right....going back to a statement by Madame Albright - in the first Iraqi adventure - she stated that the loss of 30 thousand woman and children who perished because of sanctions..was worth it - what an out of touch elitist lunitic.....Let Iraq win the shoe toss contest...but I can see Cheney trying to figure out a way to have the journalist drawn and quartered - Dick should shut up..he had his kick at the can and stubbed his toe. Note to moderator: This idea is a seperate concept from similar threads. Please if you can - let it stand as is. The fate of the shoe tossing journalist is of utmost importance as far as the average Iraqi is concerned. It shows that the circle has been completed and now a real and possitive exit route can be created to leave that place...America insulted Iraq - let the returning insult end they cyclical violence that might come...just a thought.
