guyser Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Did anyone else scratch their head watching Bud Selig at the press conference where he suspended the game last night? I couldnt tell if he was drunk , stoned or just plain out to lunch. He is a mere puppet for the owners but his press conference was , at least kindly, referred to as bizarre. Confused, dumbfounded , ill at ease. I still say the Rays will mount a comeback. Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 ...Confused, dumbfounded , ill at ease. He's always been like that as commish and an owner. I ignored the messenger and focused on the message....the game would not be called as complete after 6.5 innings (even though it never should have gone that long in those conditions). I still say the Rays will mount a comeback. They didn't....go Phillies. Without the DH, we get to see a manager earn his pay. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

guyser Posted October 31, 2008 Author Report Posted October 31, 2008 He's always been like that as commish and an owner. I ignored the messenger and focused on the message.... But in delivering the message it got muddled. It was bizarre. He is not as bad as that most times. the game would not be called as complete after 6.5 innings (even though it never should have gone that long in those conditions). They didn't....go Phillies. Without the DH, we get to see a manager earn his pay. It should not have gone that far . It would have been better to stop it early and arrange another day. Manuel is a good mgr, but Gillick is a great GM. That umping was pretty bad too. Congrats to Philly fans. Quote
