Bring extra tires. Like four or more of them if driving. And drop your deductible for comp before you go. Especially if you are on the Dempster Highway. Two tires will shred, and one windshield for sure. Go camping, the Liard, Nahanni, all beautiful and full of sun til after midnight. Take the clubs and T off at 11PM. Oh yeah, bring money, lots of money. Quote

guyser Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 (edited) Lots of money? Even if we're camping? We're in the middle of building a house. Well, gas today is anywhere from $1.46 to $1.559 in NWT, specificallly Yellowknife. Even worse in Dawson and Watson Lake.$1.449 to $1.657.(Yukon) Everything is more expensive. But you will save lots by camping and to me that is the best way to go. Edited July 31, 2008 by guyser Quote

Then I read the thread and realized that six months in Alert was most likely not the far north you were talking about. I'm a Yank, and I thought that Alert was representative of all of Canada down to the 49th. Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone."
