capricorn Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 Some Liberal bloggers are discussing whether Stéphane Dion should start his own blog. The idea is gaining momentum. The advantage they see is that the leader could communicate his ideas directly to Canadians who would then debate them among themselves. Dion could then gauge reaction from the comments. The Dion blog is seen as a potential vehicle to by-pass the MSM who, according to these Liberal bloggers, are not doing a good enough job of communicating Dion’s ideas properly or efficiently. Would this be advantageous for Stéphane Dion? Would this be advantageous for voters generally to really find out where he and the Liberals stand on various issues away from the posturing in the HofC and in front of cameras? I don't know whether Dion or his advisers think this advisable. IMO it's a good idea. Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. Unfortunately, he never runs." Will Rogers
old_bold&cold Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 you have got to be kidding now right? Dion can in no way convince anyone of anything. He is and always was a behind the scenes yes man. He is capable of doing a job, if that job is laid out for him. He is not capable of seeing a job needs to formed and then delegated and then done, all on his own. To have Dion post things on a blog without full supervision, would be suicide for the Liberal party. Dion does not think well on his feet, or sitting or lying down either. There is no way tat the voters will see him as capable, especially after these last weeks. He sold all his credibility, to save the liberals the embarassment of an election, and all at his own expense. He is done politically and I do not even think he will get his own seat back in the next election let alone win seats for the party. For now he is just resevoir for all the crap that the liberals have to take until they can rasie money and get the party going again. It is plain to see this and even Dion knows this is his only role right now. Quote

You mean the Liberals are actually learning a thing or two from us...albeit too late? Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. Unfortunately, he never runs." Will Rogers
geoffrey Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 The difference being that the other party leaders (Duceppe included) can speak coherent English. They might be able to communicate their ideas. Dion at least needs ths MSM to translate. Maybe he'll start a Facebook group: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoDlckEtrD4 I can't believe this man is a leader of a national party. They always cleaned up Chretien's poor English when quoting him. They don't clen up Dion's English. I wonder why? Beside the fact it is a more honest way to present the news. Looks like Steph's English isn't getting better any time soon. What a good news. For all the other parties. Quote No one has ever defeated the Liberals with a divided conservative family. - Hon. geoffrey Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 I don't know. Chretien always could speak much better than Dion. It was obvious that English wasn't his strong point, but he at least came across as confident and comprehendable. Sometimes I really wonder if Dion knows what he is saying. His meek voice and terrible presentation are shocking for someone at his level. Chretien was a leader, no matter how much I didn't like him. Dion just isn't one. That's really what it comes down to.
